Celebrating National Women's Day

Celebrating the International Women's Day Her Majesty Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuk graced the 2nd National Conference on Women in Governance, Leadership & Politics in Bhutan with a Regional Dimension at Termalinka. 
Representives from Denmark, Nepal & Myanmar, Hon’ble Prime Minister, ministers, members of Parliament, political parties, local leaders, officals from government agencies, Non-Governmental Orginizations and reporters from media agencies were present during the conference.

The conference was organized by the National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC) and Bhutan Network for Empowering Women (BNEW) in collabration with Women Children and Youth Committee of National Assembly, Election Commission of Bhutan - Department of Local Governance & Bhutan Democracy Dialogue supported by RGoB, Danish Institution for Parliement and democracy, International IDEA and UNWomen.

The three days conference will have interesting dialogues on wide range of topics related to women specific to the conference. The panelists talked on the status of women in Governance and leadership in Bhutan; Reflection and experiences on women in Governance, Ledership & Politics in South Asia and; Women, Democracy & Election.

Hon'ble Member Tashi Wangmo (Eminent Member) and Hon’ble Member Sangay Khandu (Gasa) from the National Council of Bhutan were amongst the many panelists participanting in the three days conference.

The 1st National Conference on Women in Political in Bhutan was conducted in 1st-2nd April 2014.
