The 55th Plenary Session of NC

The 55th plenary convened with the Honorable Thrizin welcoming the members from their constituency visit and emphasized the importance of representational role of each members by staying in touch with the contituents.

During the two-day plenary conducted on the 6th and 7th November 2017, the Social and Cultural Affairs committee was asked to seek the views from Supreme Court on the issue related to Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substance Abuse Act (NDPSAA).
The Legislative Committee presented an overview of the draft resolution on the Policy Review of Legal Aid to Indigent Person.

Similarly, presenting the overall findings of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Bill 2017, the Economic Affairs Committee highlighted new sections that merit incorporation in the bill.

The Good Governance Committee also updated on the Bhutan Information, Communication and Media Bill 2017. The Hon Thrizin acknowledged that the committee has circulated a draft report on the bill with amendement proposal for the consideration of the house.

The Foreign Relations Committee informed that it's report on the Multilateral Agreement for the Establishment of an International Think Tank for Landlocked Development Countries will be completed and readied for the upcoming session pending a final consultative meeting with the National Assembly.

The Legislative Committee also reported that the redeliberation of Audit Bill will see discussion on some 14 sections of the bill that has been amended by the National Assembly last session.

The Plenary will resume on 14th November 2017 with the reporting on a study conducted by the members from the Natural Resources and Environment Committee and the Social and Cultural Affairs Committee on the G2C Services.
