Today the House adopted the resolution on Special Committee’s report on “Assessment of Access to and use of Government to Citizen (G2C) Services, Narcotic Drugs Psychotropic Substance Abuse (Amendment) Bill 2017 prepared by Social & Cultural Affairs Committee (SCAC). The house adopted the final amendment on Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substance and Substance Abuse bill. The house also re-deliberated the Audit Bill of Bhutan 2017.

Hon. Jigmi Rinzin, Chairperson of the Special Committee presented the resolution on the review report to the house. A total of 16 observations and seven recommendations to the Royal Government were proposed by the Committee for the House to consider. The House unanimously adopted the proposal of the resolution on Special Committee's report on Assessment of Access to and use of G2C Services.

Reporting on the review work carried out by the Committee on the Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic substance and substance abuse Bill, the Chairperson of the SCAC the Hon. Nima presented the final amendment of the Bill. He reported that as per the directive of the House, the Committee conducted an in-depth deliberation on the disputed section with officials from Bhutan Narcotic Control Authority and the concern members yesterday. The committee upheld the amendment made by the NA to confer the power to amend the schedules to board, which shall be advised by a competent Technical committee. The House adopted the Bill with 20 "Yes" votes, 1 " Abstain" and 0 "No" votes.

The house will deliberate on the Toursim Levy Exemption Bill of Bhutan 2017 tomorrow at 10:30 AM.
