Posted on :18 June 2018

Hon’ble Jigme Wangchuck, Deputy Chairperson of the National Council and Hon’ble Nima from Bumthang Dzongkhag presented the follow-up report on the resolution of the 20th Session of the National Council (NC).

Highlighting on the resolution passed by the NC, the concerned Members presented the responses received for the resolution on the Local Government Members Leave Entitlement; Allocating Budget for Black-topping of Chuzomsa-Baylandra Road; G2C services; and Legal Aid to Indigent Persons.

It was reported in the House that responses were received for three issues but no response was received on the Legal Aid to Indigent Person despite follow-up with the concerned authority.

After the presentation of the responses received, the Hon’ble members submitted their concerns. While there was no dissatisfaction on Allocating Budget for Black-topping of Chuzomsa-Baylandra Road, the Hon’ble members submitted their concerns regarding the other three issues.

Therefore, the House decided to revisit and see if there are any provisions that need to be addressed on the G2C services and the Local Government Members Leave Entitlement as submitted by the Members. The house also decided to forward a written question to the Cabinet regarding Legal Aid to Indigent Persons.

Tomorrow, there will be a Joint Sitting on the disputed clauses of the Audit Bill of the Kingdom of Bhutan 2017, review of Financial Audit Report and implementation status of 10th session resolution.
