5th Sitting continues with the discussion on 12th FYP

Today, the 5th sitting continued with the discussion of the 12th FYP.

In deliberating the first two chapters of the plan document which underlined the current situation of the country and its development journey, the House focused its discussion on the usage of GNH Policy screening tools for national plans and programs; and the possibility of aligning FYP with the Fiscal Year.

Subsequently, the House deliberated on the first three National Key Result Areas (NKRAs) and submitted their views on the submission of detailed blueprint of the flagship programmes to the Parliament, increasing the target percentage of the Annual GDP Growth rate, enhancing sustainable hydropower generation and transmission, development of tourism flagship programme ,and the implementation of specific policy measures to ensure poverty and inequality reduction such as distribution of allowance for women in rural/ urban areas and free nutritious lunches in schools amongst others.

The House decided that all the recommendations and views submitted by the members will be re-looked and the final recommendations will be submitted for endorsement in the final deliberation.

Tomorrow, the House will continue to deliberate on the 12th FYP.
