A simple prayer ceremony was held yesterday at the National Council Hall to mark the completion of the first term of the National Council. The House had its first sitting on April 29, 2008, the date from which its five year term started.  The prayer ceremony was led by the former Drabi Lopon of the Zhung Dratshang and attended by Honorable Chairperson, five eminent members, three elected members and staff of the Secretariat. Yesterday, the Hon’ble Chairperson of the National Council of Bhutan met with the staff of the National Council Secretariat in the Conference Hall to exchange thoughts and experiences with regard to the combined endeavor in taking forward the mandates of the National Council of Bhutan in the last five years.He expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all the Secretariat staff for their utmost dedication and support which led to the successful completion of the first term of National Council of Bhutan.

The Hon’ble Chairperson congratulated the newly elected members of the National Council of Bhutan and advised the Secretariat to provide necessary support. He thanked the outgoing Council Members with whom he had the privilege to work with for the past five years.  Read More »
