Led by the Hon'ble Chairperson, the Members and secretariat officials offered Buelwa at the ongoing Thimphu Lhamoi Drupchen in the presence of His Eminence Dorji Lopen at Tashichhodzong today.
The National Council is honored to continue the age old practice of Buelwa during the sacred Lhamoi Mangcham performances. This practice is done on behalf of all the people of Bhutan to express gratitude to the Zhung Dratshang for propitiating the guardian deities and protecting the wellbeing of country and people.
Performed at the courtyard of Tashichhodzong, the Drubchen showcases the sacred mask dances dedicated to the chief protective deity of Bhutan, Pelden Lhamo.
Apart from the sacred mask dances, the Royal Academy of Performing Arts entertained the audience with traditional folk songs and music.
Keep up to date with what's happening at the National Council.
