Posted on :07 June 2016

The House deliberated on the Anti-Corruption Commission report 2015 today. The Chairperson, commissioner and officials from the Commission also watched the deliberation from the visitor’s gallery.

Introducing the report, the Chairperson of the Good Governance Committee (GGC) informed the house that the annual report 2015 is the 9th Annual report submitted to the Parliament. The Committee further stated that besides the series of internal meetings, the GGC conducted consultative meetings with Anti-Corruption Commission, Office of Attorney General, Royal Audit Authority and Judicial personnel in the process of reviewing the report.

A summary of the report was submitted by the members of the Committee. The Report focused on the immediate and long term Commission's policy priorities, annual performance of ACC, implementation status of the resolution of the NC's 15th session and Committee's observation and recommendation.

Recognizing the pivotal roles the ACC plays on eliminating corruption in the country, the members strongly supported the need of adequate funding and human resources and commended the ACC’s policy priority to focus on prevention, education and investigation of corruption in the country.

The House approved all the three recommendations submitted by the Committee. Tomorrow, the House shall continue to deliberate on the suggestions and views the members shared on the report.
