Posted on :28 July 2016

The 41st Plenary meeting of the National Council convened yesterday. All the Committees presented their updates of the ongoing works. Following the presentations, members suggested and pointed out issues to consider while conducting the review work.

Besides the work progress report on the assigned issues, the plenary screened out issues that were proposed by committees for consideration.

The Plenary also approved the Social and Cultural Affairs Committee’s proposal to review the issue on Teenage Pregnancy, Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment for the upcoming Parliament session.

It is an established practice by the House to conduct a plenary meeting at least twice a month to update all members on the work progress of the Committees and review issues that the House deems important.

The 41st Plenary will continue on Monday to discuss the amendment on the Rules of Procedure, proposal to amend the penal code provision on the age of consent and any other business.
