June 11 ,2018, Thimphu: Good Governance Committee meets the Anti-Corruption Commission(ACC) on the ACC’s Annual Report 2017

The Good Governance Committee of the National Council conducted a consultative meeting with the Anti Corruption Commission on the Anti Corruption Annual Report 2017. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairperson and Hon’ble members of the National Council, and Hon’ble Chairperson, Commissioners and Officials of the ACC.

In the meeting, the ACC presented its Annual Report 2017 covering the Commission’s key achievements in the past one year, highlighting priority areas both for immediate and long term future, and challenges faced.

The consultative meeting was convened by the GGC as part of its preparatory work leading up to the upcoming National Council’s 21st Session. During the meeting, the Hon’ble members sought clarifications on various issues pertaining to anti corruption measures, which will help enrich the deliberation during the formal sitting of the House.

As stipulated in section 169(1) of ACAB 2011 and provided for in the Constitution, the Anti-Corruption Commission is mandated to submit an annual report on its policies and performance to the Druk Gyalpo, Prime Minister and Parliament.

The Annual Report 2017 is the 11th Annual Report of the ACC submitted to the Parliament so far. The Report covers the period from January to December 2017.
