The house convenes its 3rd plenary meeting

The House convened its third plenary meeting to brief the Hon. Members for the 21st session by the Hon'ble Chairperson and the Secretary General, and to update the working status of the committees.

Briefing the members on the businesses of the House, The Hon'ble Chair announced that the opening session of the National Council will commence from 15th June 2018 right after the Joint Sitting of Parliament. The Secretary General briefed the Members on the decorum to be maintained during the session.

The Chairperson of the Legislative Committees reported to the House on the Joint Committee's decision on the disputed clauses of the Audit Bill followed by the status report on the agreement between the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh for the avoidance of Double Taxation and preservation of Fiscal evasion with respect to taxes of income by the Foreign Relation Committee.

Similarly, the Good Governance Committee reported on the consultative meeting held with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on their annual report. A member to Public Accounts Committee informed that the Committee will present the Performance Audit Report and follow-up report of PAC in the upcoming session.
