Delegation from King Prajadhipok’s Institution visits Parliament

A thirty-nine member delegation of the Public Administration and Public Law (Class 18), from King Prajadhipok’s Institution (KPI), Bangkok, Thailand visited the Parliament of Bhutan as a part of their study visit earlier today.

Prof Borwornsak Uwanno, President of Public Administration and Public Law Program, KPI is leading the group. During their stay in Bhutan, the delegation will also be visiting the Centre for Bhutan Studies and GNH Research; and National Biodiversity Centre. The delegation comprises of high officials from different agencies, cooperation and ministries including officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and Election Commission of Thailand.

The Chairperson of the National Council of Bhutan warmly welcomed the delegation to the National Council. Hon. Kesang Chuki Dorjee, Deputy Chairperson of the Social and Cultural Affairs Committee briefed the delegation on “Bhutan's Political, Administrative and Legislative Systems” which was followed by a question and answer session.

The Chairperson of the National Council, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Committee Chairpersons of the National Council and the secretariat staff from the Parliament interacted with the delegation.

The delegation is here on the invitation of the Parliament of Bhutan to observe and learn about Bhutanese Political, Administrative and Legislative system.
