Hon'ble Chairperson continues with the advocacy program at Samtse College of Education

The Hon'ble Chairperson continued with the advocacy programme at Samtse College of Education this morning. More than 400 trainees including the faculty attended the session.

The President of the College expressed his appreciation to the Chairperson for initiating this programme. He said that the students would greatly benefit and be enriched in the knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities played by the National Council and the Parliament as a whole.

Students raised various questions on the recommendations made by the NC on policy issues, procedures on engaging public participation for better policy review, promotion of Dzongkha, social media guidelines, impact assessment on environment and climate due to hydropower, security and self sustainability, and on the fourth pay commission report amongst others.

The Hon. Chairperson will conclude the advocacy program tomorrow with visits to the College of Science and Technology in the morning followed by the Gaedu College of Business Studies in the afternoon.
