2 August 2019: UNICEF Bhutan Resident Representative Calls on to the Chairperson

The Resident Representative of the UNICEF Country Office in Bhutan Mr. William Parks paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Tashi Dorji, Chairperson of the National Council.

Highlighting the positive relation shared between the Parliament and the UNICEF, and the participation and support of the parliamentarian in different forums organised by the UNICEF, Mr. William Parks proposed on further enhancing the working relation.

Cordially welcoming the Resident representative of the UNICEF, the Chairperson also congratulated for his placement in Bhutan. He agreed that the National Council is looking forward to work closely with the UNICEF under his leadership.

Prior to his appointment as the UNICEF Resident Representative in Bhutan, Mr. Parks worked as the Resident Representative of the UNICEF Country Office in Iran.

UNICEF has been working with Bhutan since 1974 to ensure a fair chance for every child in Bhutan.
