Lhengye Zhungtshog Bill and Human Trafficking review completed

On 23rd December, the Social and Cultural Affairs Committee met with the Royal Civil Service Commission Dy. Chief Legal Officer, Mr. Choki Drakpa to discuss the Lhengye Zhungtshog Bill provisions. 

In the afternoon, SCAC met with the Multilateral Affairs Department Director, Mr. Tenzin Rongdrel, Chief, Mr. Ugyen Dorji and Mr. Sonam Palden to discuss Bhutan's Tier 3 status, Palermo Protocol and findings of human trafficking review.

On 25th December, SCAC met with Royal Bhutan Police officials, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Colonel Tshewang Rinzin and Additional Superintendent of Police, Major Karma Rigzin for updates on the human trafficking situation in Bhutan.

And lastly, SCAC held its final meeting with the Department of Law and Order Director, Mr. Tashi Penjor and Senior Programme Officer,  
Mr. Dago to discuss the  observations of the year long study and to clarify doubts. 

The Committee will present its final report and recommendations in the upcoming winter session.
