Committee’s Presents Final Draft Report

The Hon’ble Members convened for its 16th Plenary Session to present  the final draft review report. Respective committees reported on the issues, findings and recommendations to the House.

Hon’ble Members provided views, feedback and comments on the presented draft report. The House will  carry out in-depth deliberation on review reports prepared by the Committee in the 24 session of the National Council. 

During the plenary, a brief report was submitted by the secretariat on  the responses received from the relevant agencies on the recommendations of the resolution passed by the House in the 23rd session. 

Hon’ble Member Tashi Wangyal, Member to Economic Affairs Committee presented on the Review on Vehicle imports, issues and recommendations.

Hon’ble Member Choining Dorji, Chair to the Legislative Committee briefly outlined the amendment  made by the  Committee on the Criminal and Civil Procedure Code of Bhutan 2019 (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan and Penal Code of Bhutan 2019 (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan.

Hon’ble Member Tashi Samdrup, Chair to the Natural Resources and Environment Committee, presented a brief report on the Review Report on RNR Marketing Policy and Strategies.

Hon’ble Member Ugyen Namgyal, Dy.  Chair to the Social & Cultural  Affairs Committee (SCAC) presented the Lhengay Zhungtsho 2020 Bill of the Kingdom of Bhutan. 

Hon’ble Member Kesang Chuki Dorjee, Chair to the  SCAC also presented issues related to Human Trafficking in Bhutan and proposed Committee’s recommendations.

Hon’ble Member Tashi Wangmo, Member to the Good Governance Committee (GGC) presented the Draft Review Report on the Quality of Education; and amendment made by the GGC on the Entitlement and Service Conditions  Act for the Holders, Commissioners, and the Members Constitutional Office of Bhutan. 2015. 

The plenary also nominated Hon’ble Member Kesang Chuki Dorjee, Hon’ble Member Ugyen Namgyal and Hon’ble Member Lhatu as the members for the SDG Committee. This  committee is a Joint Parliamentary Committee instituted to review the annual SDG plans and programme. 

Other issues such as on the  follow-up status  on the implementation of the resolution passed by the NC, and other administration related issues were discussed during the plenary.
