His Majesty appoints Eminent Member Karma Tshering as the Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Affairs

His Majesty the King appointed Eminent Member Karma Tshering as the Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Affairs on 11 March 2020 at the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Strategies, Phuentsholing.

He was appointed by His Majesty the King as one of the Eminent Members of the National Council (NC) on 7 December 2015. He served as the Chairperson of the Legislative Committee and the Foreign Relations Committee in the National Council as well as a member of the Chhoedey Lhentshog.

Before his appointment to NC, he served as the Director of the Department of Hydropower and Power Systems of the Economic Affairs Ministry and as the Chairman of Bhutan Electricity Authority.

The National Council family would like to heartily congratulate and thank him for his dedication & valuable contributions to the House. We wish him greater successes in his new responsibilities.
