Legislative Committee continues with its Stakeholders meeting

On 20 July 2020, the Legislative Committee of the National Council continued its Stakeholder consultation meeting with Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry the Proprietors and Representatives of the Private Mining Industries on the Mines and Minerals Bill of Bhutan 2020.

A brief presentation was made highlighting the issues and concerns of Mining in Bhutan and the challenges they faced.

They also share their views, comments on some of the clause that needs to be relooked. The meeting concluded with a quick question and answer session.

Similar, on 17th July 2020, the Committee had a meeting with Office of the Registrar of Company and Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan.

The Committee as a part of its review process on the Bill will continue to meet with relevant public and private stakeholders in the coming week.

The Bill will be deliberated in the coming session of the National Council.
