Photography and Designing

5 October 2020: Ten officials from the National Council Secretariat are currently undergoing training on “Photography and Designing” at the Institute for Management Studies Limited (IMSL) from 5th -18th October 2020. The training is intended to learn photography and explore the basic tools and features of InDesign and Photoshop for creating professional page layouts and designs.

Welcoming the participants, Mr Ugyen Pelgen, CEO of the IMSL expressed his appreciation to the National Council (NC) for giving them the opportunity to conduct the training. He stated that the support rendered by the NC through such activities indeed reassures the private sector especially during such times when all the sectors are greatly impacted by the pandemic.

In the opening remarks the Secretary General highlighted the importance of digital advancement and the need to enhance the capacity of the IT services of the House. He said that despite the current situation of the country and the limited resources, due to the urgency to build the capacity on digital usage, the training has been prioritized. He also thanked the IMSL team for the logistics and asked the participants to make full use of the available resources.  He concluded his address by reminding the participant to be extra cautious and to strictly adhere the health protocol.

The training is facilitated by two local professionals, Mr Pelden Dorji who has been in photography and film making for almost 40 years, he is a Bhutanese movie personality who has worked in 13 Bhutanese films. He has been awarded the best Photography award in 2008. And Mr Chandra Singh Subba for designing, he has been working as a Graphic Designer for 7 years and has enough experience in the same field.
