Joint Committee on CCPC meets to deliberate on disputed clauses

The first Joint Committee on Civil and Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill 2020 met to deliberate on the disputed clauses.
The Joint Committee comprises of five Hon'ble Members of Legislative Commitee of National Council and seven Members from National Assembly (NA).
The National Council during its 24th Session had recommended 19 provisions for amendment out of which National Assembly have accepted 12 provisions thus, leaving out 7 disputed clauses.
Today the first joint committee meeting commenced with the welcome speech by Hon'ble Speaker of NA.
Later, the Members of the Joint Committee unanimously elected Hon'ble Tshewang Lhamo, Bongo Chapchha Constituency as Chairperson and Hon'ble Choining Dorji, Pema Gatshel Dzongkhag as Deputy Chairperson of the Committee.
The Deputy Chairperson of the Joint Committee submitted the justification on amendments made by the National Council which the Joint Committee will deliberate in next meeting.
