The two days deliberation on the review report on Anti-Corruption Commission's Annual Report 2020- 2021 by the Good Governance Committee concluded today. The House directed the Committee to prepare the final recommendations along with the report for adoption.
The GGC members continued with the presentation of the review report on the Anti-Corruption Commission's Annual Report 2020-2021. The Committee members detailed out the report which was focused on four areas. This was then followed by the Committee clarifying on the concerns shared by the Hon’ble Members. Additional recommendations were also submitted by the Members to the Committee.
Of the four recommendations proposed, the House accepted two recommendations - fixing accountability and integrity in the public service; and Integrity clubs in schools. Recommendations pertaining to protection of witness/informers; and awareness programmes/training for LG Members, the House reverted the recommendations back to the Committee as most of the Members felt that it needed further scrutiny.
The 5th sitting concluded with the Hon’ble Chairperson wishing everyone a very Happy Lomba especially to the people of Paro and Haa Dzongkhags on behalf of the House.
As directed by the Hon'ble Chairperson, the relevant Committees will conduct in-house meetings to finalise their reports and bills tomorrow.
