National Council convenes its 27th Plenary Session

The meeting was conducted to reflect on the 28th Session and to identify the issues to be deliberated in the next session.

The House, during the meeting, identified the following issues for inclusion in the tentative agenda for the 29th session:

1. Royal Bhutan Police (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2021;

2. Biodiversity Bill of Bhutan;

3. Framework Agreement on the establishment of the International Solar Alliance;

4. Drafting of Civil Liability Bill /Tort Bill; and

5. Budget Bills.

The following Bills will also be tabled for the Joint Sitting, and accordingly, the related issues will be assigned to relevant committees to further review and prepare for the joint sitting of the Parliament:

1. The Civil Society Organizations (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2021 - Legislative Committee;

2. The Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2021- Good Governance Committee; and

3. United Nations Convention Against Corruption (Amendment) - Economic Affairs Committee.
