NREC Continues Consultations on Marriage (Amendment) Bill 2024

The Natural Resources and Environment Committee (NREC) is continuing its consultation meetings on the Marriage (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan, 2024 l. Recent meetings were held with officials from Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag and Thromde on September 4, Phuentsholing Thromde on September 6, and Chukha Dzongkhag on September 9, 2024.

Several issues related to marriages were shared by the officials during the consultation meetings.

The NREC expresses its gratitude to RENEW (Respect, Educate, Nurture, and Empower Women) and Save the Children for their financial support.

The committee plans to continue its consultations in other Dzongkhags to engage more stakeholders and gather input from various communities.
