The Natural Resources and Environment Committee (NREC) is in Sarpang Dzongkhag

The Natural Resources and Environment Committee (NREC) is in Sarpang Dzongkhag to discuss compensation policies for issues like human-wildlife conflict and crop damage from natural disasters.

In the morning, NREC talked with leaders from Gelephu and Samtenling Gewog, discussing ways to help people affected by these problems.

Later in the day, NREC met with officials from Sarpang Dzongkhag and Umling Dungkhag, along with leaders from 10 Gewogs in Sarpang Dzongkhag.

The committee visited Samtenling and Dekiling villages to see the damage caused by the recent floods.

The field trip was made possible with financial support from the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) under UNDP.
